# Removal requests

> When someone asks to be removed, delete them from your systems within 10 business days.

Sometimes a person asks for their data to be removed. When that happens, we remove their details from Intent Leads and tell you, so you can remove them from your own systems too.

  Under the [terms](https://intentleads.si/terms), you must delete or suppress that person in your CRM, sequencer and any other system **within 10 business days** of our notice.

## How you're told

* **Dashboard**: an entry on **Activity**, and the lead shows as suppressed.
* **API**: `GET /api/v1/suppressions` lists them.
* **CLI and MCP**: `intentleads suppressions`, or the `list_suppressions` tool.

## Checking for removals

Check at least weekly. Pass `since` to get only recent ones:

Match each one to your records by:

* `lead_id`, if you stored it when you imported the lead (recommended), or
* `email_sha256`: the SHA-256 of the email, trimmed and lowercased.

## What happens to the lead

The lead stays in your exports with `suppressed: true`, and every contact field is empty, including in re-downloads and future pulls. The person won't be exported to you again.
