# Plans and billing

> You pay per person exported. Everything else is free.

## Plans

| Plan | Price | Contacts a month | Per contact |
| - | - | - | - |
| Starter | \$250 | 2,500 | \$0.10 |
| Growth | \$500 | 7,500 | \$0.067 |
| Scale | \$1,000 | 20,000 | \$0.05 |
| Partner | \$2,000 | 50,000 | \$0.04 |

Every plan includes unlimited lanes, keywords, checks, samples and quotes.

## What uses contacts

Only exports. Each new person in an export uses one contact. These are free:

* Creating and changing lanes and keywords
* Daily checks, fresh checks, funnels and samples
* Export quotes (`dry_run: true`)
* Downloading an export or your leads again, as often as you like

**A person counts once per billing period.** If two lanes find the same person, or you export again later in the period, they're left out rather than billed again. In a new period, someone with fresh intent can be exported again; their lead is marked `seen_before: true`.

## Billing periods

Your allowance resets every month on your plan's start date. **Unused contacts roll over** to the next period, for one period, up to one month's worth.

Check where you are with `GET /api/v1/usage`:

```json theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark"}}
{
  "plan": "starter",
  "plan_name": "Starter",
  "period_start": "2026-10-09",
  "period_end": "2026-11-09",
  "monthly_contacts": 2500,
  "rollover_contacts": 0,
  "allowance": 2500,
  "used": 10,
  "remaining": 2490,
  "held_by_exports_in_progress": 0,
  "left_to_export": 2490
}
```

`left_to_export` is what you can still export now: `remaining` less contacts held by exports that are still running.

When your contacts run out, exports return `402 allowance_exhausted` until the next period or until you upgrade.

## Changing plan

Owners change plan on **Usage and plan** in the dashboard, or with an admin key through `POST /api/v1/billing/plan`:

* **Upgrades** apply straight away. You're charged the difference for the rest of the period, and the new contacts are available at once.
* **Downgrades** are sent to us as a request and take effect from your next period.
* With **no plan yet**, the response includes a `checkout_url` to pay by card.

Invoices, your card and cancellation are on the billing page: open it from **Usage and plan**, or get a link with `POST /api/v1/billing/portal`.
